The 2020 Ford F-150 is Here at
Renowned for its work-focused abilities and brawny engine, the Ford F-150 has led the full-size pickup truck segment for generations. It sets the standards for the class with its impressive hauling and towing strength, and it has all the power you need for any job or off-road adventure. When your work day is done, you can relax on the way home in the truck’s comfortable, high-quality interior.
Following a mid-generation refresh just two years prior, Ford has upgraded the F-150 by equipping all 2020 models with a 10-speed automatic transmission. A turbodiesel V6 engine is also available for the XLT trim, and Ford has expanded the truck’s exterior paint options with new white, red, and silver hues.
If you have a learning driver behind the wheel, you can use the available MyKey program to establish safe audio volume and speed limits. Ford also enhances safety with the available Co-Pilot 360, which adds driver assistance features like automatic emergency braking and lane keep assist.
Ford makes the 2020 F-150 in seven trim levels:
- King Ranch
The trim lineup starts with the XL, a durable work tuck that backs up its value with safety systems like automatic emergency braking, a rearview camera, and forward collision warning. The XLT builds on the base’s list with smartphone connectivity, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a touchscreen infotainment system. The Lariat features ventilated and heated front seats, push-button start, satellite radio, and leather upholstery. The King Ranch comes with a navigation system, blind spot monitoring, Bang & Olufsen sound, heated seating in both rows, a heated steering wheel, and wood trim in the interior.
In the Platinum trim, you’ll find power-deployable running boards as well as rain-sensing windshield wipers. The Limited trim comes with a host of the previous trims’ available amenities, plus lane keep assist, a surround-view parking system, a twin-panel moonroof, and adaptive cruise control. The Raptor is designated as the off-road version of the Limited trim, building on it with performance tools like a locking rear differential, four-wheel drive, skid plates, and off-road racing suspension.

Performance of the 2020 Ford F-150
Whether you’re driving through the streets of Atlanta or accelerating to pass on the highway, the F-150 handles remarkably well. It stays poised around corners despite its imposing size, and it shrugs off bumps in the road thanks to its shock-absorbing suspension. When it’s time to leave the pavement behind, you’ll find that the F-150 is also a capable off-roading machine. If you intend to spend a lot of time off the beaten path, you can opt for the rugged Raptor trim, which comes with a specialized selection of off-road performance tools.
Ford offers several engine options for their flagship truck, starting with the standard 290-horsepower naturally aspirated V6. In the Limited and Raptor trims, you’ll find a 450-horsepower turbocharged V6, while the truck can also be equipped with a 250-horsepower turbodiesel, 375-horsepower EcoBoost V6, and 395-horsepower V8. When properly equipped for the job, the F-150 can tow 13,200 pounds and haul 3,270 pounds. Despite its incredible strength, the truck demonstrates surprisingly conservative fuel efficiency.
